Our award-winning faculty in the Department of Crop and Soil Environmental Sciences conduct research at the cutting edge of their professions. Our faculty bring in more than $4 million each year in external research grant and contract funding. These funds create learning and employment opportunities for graduate students, postdoctoral associates, and staff. Our department and our research partners at Virginia Tech provide equipment and laboratory, greenhouse, and field facilities for exceptional learning and work experiences. Our research activities are focused in three domains: Agronomy, Crop Improvement, Breeding and Genomicsand Environmental Science
