Civil War Tours: We have arranged with Mr. John Marler of the Appomattox Touring Company to provide customized pre- and post-meeting tours of local battlefields including the “Crater” and other sites associated with the protracted siege of Richmond. These tours will run on the Sunday before and the Friday after the regular meeting events. John is a great historian and entertainer, and these tours promise to be special! |

Annual Society Dinner at Shirley Plantation: Our annual gala dinner on Tuesday evening will be hosted by Shirley Plantation, founded in 1613 approximately 20 miles south of Richmond. Attendees will be free to tour the house and grounds before being treated to local cuisine, live music, and beautiful views of the James River. Pre-meal tours of tidal freshwater wetland restoration and dredge utilization sites will be available. |
