Turf Ecology

Economic opportunities and agronomic challenges in the turfgrass industry are described. Turfgrass growth and development, identification, adaptation and use, establishment and renovation in various environments are discussed. Ecological and cultural factors that influence turfgrass production are covered. Emphasis is placed on the development of practical turf cultural programs that are effective, resource efficient, and environmentally sensitive.

Integrated Management of TurfSystems

Requires students to develop an integrated turf management plan for a case-study golf course, athletic field complex,sod farm, or commercial lawn care operation. A significant part of this plan will be in agronomic programming, material selection, application schedules, and budgeting. Pre: 3564 and senior standing required (2H,2C) II.
