Education
- B.S. Plant and Soil Science, Univ. of Tennessee 1981
- M.S. Agronomy, Washington State Univ. 1984
- Ph.D. Agronomy, Univ. of Nebraska 1997
Professional Activities and Interests
- Conduct research and provide graduate student instruction and training in the areas of small grains breeding, genetics, and genomics. My program develops traditional and high value specialty wheat and barley cultivars including soft red winter, hard red winter, and durum wheat, and hulled and hulless barley. Emphasis is placed on identification, genetic characterization, mapping, and marker assisted selection for durable disease resistance.
