  • Work with globally important issues - food, grassland ecosystems, and agricultural sustainability.

Beyond the Classroom

  • Develop professional and leadership skills through service projects and social events as a member of the nationally recognized Agronomy Club or Turf Club. Student led clubs offer learning opportunities with faculty advisors, and a lot of fun.
  • Travel to new places and experience the thrill of victory with nationally ranked competitive teams that build life-long friendships and hone your knowledge of crops, turf, soils, and the environment. Our four faculty-coached teams include crop judging, soil judging, and quiz bowl teams in turf science and crop and soil science.
  • Gain valuable on-the-job experience and explore career opportunities through internships with industry and agency partners.
  • Conduct research alongside top-notch faculty using state-of-the-art equipment in the laboratory and the field. Make discoveries in crop genetics, crop ecology, precision agriculture, waste management, and land restoration.
  • Encounter new cultures, new agroecosystesm, and new perspectives on the contributions and challenges of agriculture and soil management around the world through study-abroad and student exchange programs.
