Subsidence

With funding provided by Powell River Project and other sources in the 1980s, Mike Karmis (Department of Mining and Minerals Engineering) developed software for use in predicting underground mine subsidence. The software was utilized by mining operators, for SMCRA compliance, and by U.S. Office of Surface Mining, for training.
